The CAFC 2010 Annual Fire Rescue Conference will be held at the Rose Hall Resort and Spa in beautiful Montego Bay, Jamaica November 28 - December 3, 2010. Our Hosts will be the Jamaica Fire Brigade lead by Commissioner Laurie Williams. Now in out 8th year, the CAFC (Caribbean Association of Fire Chiefs) spans the entire Caribbean region of Island Nations and Territories, uniting all fire services for the common cause of protecting life and property in our communities.

Our Montego Bay conference includes training and lecture sessions for Fire Chiefs, Junior Fire Officers, Fire Fighters, Fire Inspectors and EMS. Our 2010 speakers and trainers will include professionals from FEMA, the Los Angeles Fire Department, Lockheed Martin, CAFC member-experts and others.

 

JOLA (Junior Officers Leadership Academy) Extends to a new level this year as we introduce JOLA 2, which is intended for graduates of JOLA 1. JOLA was a key focus for our 2009 efforts. The JOLA (Junior Officers Leadership Academy) is where CAFC focuses to train the next generation of fire chiefs. By having JOLA as a function of CAFC, we have added the element of regional junior fire officer joint training based on unified NFPA standards. A key dividend of this approach (which is also the basis for all CAFC training) is that inter-island support in times of emergency and crisis can be delivered with the synchronicity that saves lives and resources.
